- For some reason last night, the Blue Jays wore the red uniforms they typically reserve for Canada Day. P Alex Manoah, who did not play last night but wore a blue pullover on the bench, was about the only person on the team not dressed in red (From @Minor_Leaguer)

- The Somerset Patriots, the Yankees’ Double-A affiliate, will wear Star Wars jerseys on Sept. 16. (From John Cerone)
- The Portland Sea Dogs, the Red Sox’s Double-A affiliate, have added a memorial patch to honor Charlie Eshbach, the team’s founding president and GM. (From our own Anthony Emerson)
- Pixar is developing a new series called Win or Lose, a show about a baseball team called the Pickles. The Portland Pickles, a collegiate wood bat team, took offense to the TV team’s very similar logo and responded by changing their name on Twitter to the Portland Pixars. (From Rob Neyer)

- The Las Vegas Desert Dogs are an expansion team in the National Lacrosse League. While they have not yet formally unveiled their uniforms, they had a jersey ready for their pick at the NLL Draft over the weekend. - The Premier Lacrosse League played its semifinals matchups over the weekend, with top seeded Whipsnakes in white/red/red and the Waterdogs in purple/lavender/lavender. The retail jerseys likely won’t have the ad patches though, right?
They probably will, The Habs uniforms usually don’t change from year to year. The patch means fans will have to buy new ones.
The reason why the Jays wore red is because Jose Berrios requested it. It was the same reason the last time they wore red.
Blue Jays wear red too much now. I don’t like it. Should be for Canada Day only.
I agree, but only because the uni has no blue on it. The blue brim and sleeves (I know it was a vest) from the 1997 Canada Day jersey would make it suitable as a regular alternate.
But I was really just responding to the “For some reason last night” part of the entry.
