- Joe Montana’s epic 92-yard drive during the final moments of the 1989 Super Bowl — aka “The Drive” — is the stuff of NFL legend. What fans may not realize is that during that famous championship game, Montana was wearing the same jersey he wore when he led the San Francisco 49ers to victory against the Miami Dolphins in the 1985 Super Bowl four years earlier.

- It’s hard to tell from these blurry screen grabs, but “It looks like CBS is blurring out the Furman wordmark on certain shots. Or it is a very bad Uni font,” notes Michael Emmer. I watched Furman upset Virginia on Thursday, and Furman quite possibly has the hardest wordmark to read at this year’s tourney.

It pays homage to the vibrant summer sunsets during home games & the pink smoke pots that fans light for Forward goals. Submitter R. John Elway’s 98 yard drive in the closing minutes of regulation time in the 1986 AFC Championship Game is known as “The Drive”.
Correct. There is only one “The Drive,” and that, unfortunately, is it.
For days afterward, I laid on the couch in the fetal position sucking my thumb.
I’ve personally always called Elway’s “The Drive,” but there can always be other fans who refer to other drives that way. Just as 98% of the country thinks of Earnest Byner when one hears the phrase “The Fumble,” but to Giants fans of a certain vintage, “The Fumble” will always be this.

Of course, to Philly fans (and probably any non-Giants fans), that play is the “Miracle at the Meadowlands” but as someone who witnessed it live (on TV) that day, it was far from a miracle…
If you’re keeping track, the Eagles have had 3 different Miracles at the Meadowlands (Herm Edwards, Brian Westbrook, DeSean Jackson).
Correction: McTavish was the last NHLer to go without a helmet.
I think the statement was supposed to be parsed as “the last player to go without a visor” would be “… the Craig McTavish [sic] of their generation”,
And the [sic[ is because it’s MacTavish, not McTavish.

I’m not a Brady fan, but the choice of facemask on his poorly photoshopped visage hurts my brain.
This season the Sacramento Republic FC will wear a patch on their uniforms with the suicide and crisis lifeline number (988) as “part of the team’s mission in prioritizing community health.”
In the interest of good civics, advertisers should be made to buy PSA’s instead of ads. If the uniforms are going to be compromised, at least have it be for the public good.
Hockey:
The Cincinnati Cyclones wore St. Patrick’s Day sweaters on Friday.
That ballpark in Fairfax County is literally on the same piece land where my company had an office building (which I was located in) for many years.
