  • England: Chelsea’s men’s team added No. 9 to their warm-up shirts yesterday in memory of former striker Gianluca Vialli, who passed away last week.
  • England: The second-tier women’s team London City Lionesses wore their pink and grey second kit at home yesterday. The reason? A new partnership with Foudys, an online store which says it’s the first specific to women’s soccer.
  • Japan: New shirts for Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, Nagoya Grampus, and Vissel Kobe. (From Jeremy Brahm)
  • Scotland: The Women’s Scottish Cup has a new logo. As you can see, even though the Scottish Football Association has also started calling the men’s version the “Men’s Scottish Cup” in writing, they haven’t updated its logo to say that.

The Giants’ WR is Isaiah HODGINS, not Hodges.
Not sure how I feel about the Penguins memorializing a player’s dad on their uniforms. It would be one thing if the guy played for the team, or played NHL hockey at all (he sold trucks). But this teamwide public show of grief seems performative and not right somehow, and invites a slippery slope where we are adding letters for the trainer’s godmother one day.

Wonder if the tube sock pole award was one of the artifacts discovered when Darrell Waltrip’s old hauler was opened up a while back:

It looks like the sock was on a left foot but the award is for putting your foot into it. Shouldn’t it be a right foot then?

Thanks for the content on Sonny Jurgensen. Given the Commies were wearing a #9, white in a black circle, I thought he had passed away and I missed the news.

Have I missed something? Or has Georgia debuted a new Nike jersey template tonight? I don’t recall seeing those seam-lines before.

Covered before. Was in Sunday’s post (link). All Nike teams in the playoff got the new chassis for the playoffs. It’s the same one Oregon has been using for a couple years.
