- The University of Augsburg’s hockey team, a Division III team, had its logo stenciled from a Budweiser can in the 1980s. The team only just recently fully retired that logo after years of threats from Anheuser Busch.

- England: Yesterday’s FA Cup match between Manchester City and Arsenal had patch issues typical of the competition — City wore no patches, while Arsenal wore FA Cup patches above the Premier League’s anti-racism patch.

Manchester City don’t have to wear the men’s FA Cup patch because their ad is a competing Middle Eastern airline to the one that’s the competition’s ad. They never wear it because of that. You have to go back a while (the competition’s current ad has been in place since 2015) to find it on their shirt.
It used to be inconsistent from round to round as to who was wearing the patch and who wasn’t, but now since every game is televised/streamed somewhere everybody else wears it as far as I’ve ever seen.

Northwestern men’s basketball wearing their black “gothic” alts at home right now, against Minnesota in yellow.
I know it’s just the lighting, but the first Caps goalie mask almost looks like it has a dark cage rather than chrome. I wish more goalies would go with a darker or color matched cage rather than white or chrome. My guess is that it has something to do with picking up the puck and if a darker cage makes it more difficult.
I don’t think the Twins signage detail is correct. @dbremer_pxp (Twins play by play announcer) posted a picture from Target Field today with no changes to any of the signage.
