- England: Tottenham Hotspur wore black armbands for their match against Manchester City, in honor of DF Anton Walkes, who passed away after a boating accident yesterday. At the time of his death, Walkes was playing in MLS for Charlotte FC. (Thanks, Jamie)
- England: With ST Danny Ings moving from Aston Villa to West Ham, he has now played for all three claret-and-blue teams in the top two men’s divisions of English soccer, playing for Burnley from 2011-2015 and for Villa since 2021. I’m certain there are other players who’ve played for all three clubs, although I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

Whataburger’s stripes are white and orange, not burnt orange. I guess even regular orange is enough to ruffle Aggie feathers.
The Ryan Miller Ceremony and game had many uni-notable elements. Lots of former players came back to be on the ice for the ceremony all wearing the current white jersey with their their names, numbers, and captaincy and alternate patches on them. While you could argue it’s wrong to make them wear something they never wore on the ice, it lent the white jersey a lot of gravitas. It really feels like that is THE Sabres sweater, representative of the team in official and ceremonial capacity, and not just a road uniform. Additionally, there was a large Miller sign with a base featuring every primary Sabres logo Miller wore from left to right – goat head, slug, and proper.
During the ceremony, the current Sabres wore both blue and gold as well as red and black Miller T-shirts. Fitting. During the game, they wore their home blues (bring back home white) but with a nice “30” banner patch.
All in all, a fantastic ceremony.

Any word if the amazing team at Oxford Pennant did the Miller banner? I loved the profile you did with them on the Rick Jeanneret banner they did for the Sabres last season.
