- When Bills S Damar Hamlin woke up last week after suffering cardiac arrest during Monday Night Football, he reportedly asked, “Did we win?” Hamlin has now turned the phrase into a T-shirt he’s selling, with proceeds going to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Trauma Center, where he received care. He’s also filed to trademark the phrase, along with an additional phrase: “Three is back.” According to the filing, the trademarks will be used for clothing, motivational speaking services, and athletic training services. I can’t be the only one who thinks that – while the broncos “D horse” logo is fine – the current horse head logo looks fantastic on a helmet and should remain their primary logo for a while longer.
I think the main issues that the broncos need to address are the curvy dart panel things on the jerseys and pants, and the number font not feeling bold enough or well thought out. To be a real design nitpicker: the numbers with long angled strokes (2, 6, 7, 9) feel way out of proportion because all of the angled strokes across the family are identical angles regardless of the rest of the characters features. It’s also so odd to me that the 2 and 4 contain blunted corners while the 7 and 3 are pointed. The 0 has the only curves that are elliptical (is that the right term?) rather than conforming to the path of a circle. The lower curve of the 5 terminates beyond the edges of the rest of the number. And the squared serifs just don’t feel like they belong.
Thank you for articulating the font issues! It’s a very 90s font, and it’s kind of bugged me, but I never really sat down to analyze it like that… but you hit the nail on the head!
If you’ve watched the TV show NCIS you’ll notice the credits are in the Bronco font. It hasn’t aged well.

When I was watching the Packers and Lions Sunday night I got to look at the Lions’ helmet logo and thought they could probably get away with doing what the Broncos did with regards to the helmet logo and it would also look great!
The Arsenal artwork is beautiful. Can’t wait to see it on the stadium.
On the renderings of players, all sponsors and makers marks are removed from the kits (aside from the three striped sleeves of a few Adidas era kits)

Wow, lots of fascinating stuff in there, for sure! The sidebar piece entitled “Should you wear 6-foot spears?”. while not a bad idea at any time, could have been especially applicable in 2020-21.
Agreed. The other 2020-21 applicable/mirror item was the closing of Chicago Schools in 1937 due to a Polio outbreak.
