Some teams should make their Reverse Retro sets permanent (Kings).
Many teams look good. KIngs and Wild have hit it out of the park both RR years. Mostly because we have seen the return of the old school great colour schemes. I want to see those as main colour schemes for Kings and Wild permanently.
As a Canucks fan, I really enjoyed classic version Johnny Canuck as the main crest on the jerseys. The uniform now retired after last night Skills Competition That is the cruel thing about RR. The look is here this year and then gone.
I much prefer the Jets’ RR uni to their regular road whites.
I appreciate the version 2.0 look for the Jets. A good look and attempt to be original from version 1.0.
But the more I see it, the more I would much prefer the heritage white and dark as the new home and road primary uniforms for the Jets.

The luggage-tag item reminded me of something that happened at the Rio Olympics. Some luggage manufacturer supplied the entire British team with matching luggage. Which was great until after the closing ceremonies, when scores of athletes took the same flight home. When they got to the baggage claim at Heathrow, they had to search through a sea of identical bags to find theirs.
Will say it again. Amazing how tacky, huge and unwearable NFL Super Bowl rings have become over the years.
Not that I look at much NFL football, but I always find it ironic to see “end racism” on the Kansas City field or goalposts, but then the “chop” and the “war chant” still continues.
Didn’t the whole chop/chant mishegoss begin with FSU Football? I wonder if the Seminole tribe would sign on again knowing what would follow.
I’m sure if they were not happy, they could turn their backs on their agreement with the university at anytime. -C.
I’m *pretty* sure (although it could just be an urban legend) that the chant started during Deion Sanders’ time with FSU. Rumor has it he “brought” the chant with him to the Braves, and from there, it spread. Not sure how much stock I put in that, but it’s about as plausible as any other rationale.
Last night in Detroit the Pistons went retro teal while hosting the Charlotte Hornets. They obviously didn’t think their cunning plan through.
I encourage people to read the article about Native American activists protesting the Chiefs name- love the team, hate the name. It is long, but very well done.
It says a lot about how ‘meh’ a team’s uniforms are when they have to release a statement that they are not changing.
I really appreciate the article about the Chiefs. I’ve thought for a long time it would be easy for the team to remedy this tension. Take on a fireman motif, add a dalmatian mascot, lose the arrowhead (logo and stadium). Easy peasy. And then, maybe arrange with the NFL that the chants will be muted on broadcasts. At least that would stop it from being broadcasted.
Same thing with the Redskins. They could have taken the Native American off the helmet and replaced it with a potato.
I was cheering for “Pigskins”, but I knew the NFL takes itself too seriously for there to be any chance.
I use to work at Winfield-Mt Union! I think the trophies shrank because schools that won all the time didn’t have space for big ones. Same thing happened with music contest trophies. They used to give out huge plaques for organizational contests. It changed to a little sign that says the year and group that gets hung on a bigger plaque that says the contest name.
Interesting! I hadn’t thought about that being the reason… though if it were up to me, I’d be happy to find more space for those classic, large trophies if my teams kept winning them. And even though they did go smaller, I still think they could’ve been more creative with the design. So VERY generic!
Exeter Chiefs of Premiership Rugby (in England) had the issue of a Native American logo, and they ended up just changing the logo to show a Domonii Chiefton, which is from an ancient British tribe that inhabited that area. Kept the name, people love the new logo.
Obviously KC Chiefs can’t go that route, indigenous imagery is already the issue. That said I think they can definitely just change the logo and thus the meaning to chief. Even for next season, straight away they can just take away the arrowhead and keep the KC that’s inside of it as the transitionary logo. Guarantee most would barely notice the change but you’d be removing the offending imagery.
