  • David Poile, the only GM in Predators history, formally announced his retirement yesterday, and the team subsequently announced that Barry Trotz — who coached the team from 1998 until 2014 — will be taking Poile’s place. As part of the press conference, Poile was presented with a vintage No. 98 sweater to represent the team’s inaugural season, while Trotz was presented with a modern No. 23 sweater to represent his first full year on the job.     On the Rangers item, if you look at their other recent men’s cup finals (2019-20 League Cup and 2021-22 Scottish Cup) they also didn’t include the opponent’s name in their match info (one was Hearts and one was Celtic), so they’re not breaking any tradition. That smells like a tabloid making a story out of nothing.

    Proofreading: There’s no link on the St Patrick’s Athletic item under the Soccer section. Here it is, for everyone’s reference/convenience:

    Looking ar the comment section on that MLB throwback thread, it amazes me that so many people don’t know that the Brewers moved to town from Seattle.
