Today, we have an askew NOB, a handful of new soccer kits, and Metaverse jerseys

Baseball

MLB

  • New Blue Jay Whit Merrifield’s NOB looked a little off in his Blue Jays debut.
  • New Padres OF Juan Soto had to negotiate with P Nick Martinez in order to get his preferred No. 22. After texting Martinez and asking what he wanted in exchange for the number, Martinez replied with a picture of a boat. Soto has decided to give him a watch.
  • Angels 3B José Rojas broke his belt buckle making a diving play yesterday. (From Mike Chamernik)

Hockey

NHL

  • It appears the Devils have replaced their team logo with the logo of their corporate stadium advertiser for club seats. (From Steven Woj)

Minors/Juniors

  • The San Jose Barracuda, AHL affiliates of the Sharks, teased a new alternate jersey yesterday.
Basketball

College

  • New unis for Kentucky men which they’ll wear during their upcoming trip to the Bahamas. Many readers noted that NCAA rules state that the wordmark can’t extend past the top of the numbers, though on the white jersey the wordmark clearly does.
Soccer

USA

  • New Atlanta United MF Edwin Mosquera wanted to wear No. 70, but has settled for No. 21, because MLS numbers “don’t go that high.” MLS numbers actually do go that high, but a later tweet from the same reporter said that Mosquera may be misunderstanding an Atlanta United rule for an MLS one. International

  • England: Everton have signed a deal with a company called “Fancurve” which will offer *deep sigh* NFT shirts for use in the Metaverse. Fancurve already has a similar deal with Spanish side Real Betis. The designs of the shirts will not be replicas of the on-field kits, instead being original designs. (From @texastrevor)
  • England: New third kits for Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Southampton.
  • Italy: AS Roma’s third kit has leaked. It features a unique badge which shows either the club’s “ASR” logo or the standard club crest depending on which angle you look at it, sort of like those old hologram baseball cards.
  • Netherlands: The home shirt for the Oranje for the 2022 World Cup has been leaked.
  • Germany: Hansa Rostock, a club in the second tier of German soccer, have unveiled their new third kit, a sharp black number.

I’m pretty sure Kentucky is just wearing those uniforms for their upcoming pre-season Bahamas trip, not during the actual season.

    I could be wrong.

The white one is the only one that looks like it would be wearable during the season. I do like seeing Wildcats on the front of the jersey though, thats a huge change for UK

Using those colors and adding the oval makes for a sharp new logo for HMS.
The sun looks orange-y to me…a good thing, as is placing emphasis on Miami for the wordmark.

IMO, the calamity of last year’s the Nashville GP was rooted in the circuit’s design…the new tires hopefully won’t create additional issues this go-’round.

With the Giants revealing their uniform schedule it confirms we will have “color vs color” on Thanksgiving in Dallas, just like when it happened in 2017 with the Chargers vs Cowboys thanksgiving bout.
