I thought it had been established the NFL will only allow an Alt helmet to be paired with an alt jersey. Hence why the Bengals had to dust off their 2019 color rush to pair w/ the white helmet. Yet that Panthers uniform schedule sure makes it seem like the black jersey is the primary jersey(theyre only wearing the carolina blue once)

The black jersey is their primary jersey. What gets confusing is the all black uniform (jersey, pants, socks) has also been designated as the “Color Rush” uniform. Even though it’s the same black jersey. So the team will wear the silver helmet with the black jersey as their primary home uniform, and then pair the new black helmet with the mono-black “CR” uniform, which can be worn a maximum of 3 times. Methinks the NFL/Nike are playing a bit fast and loose here, but the team is within the “rules” for alternate helmet usage.

Great idea by the Alouettes for the poutine bowl helmets. However, considering the price they should have made the mask colour and the striping match their actual helmets.

Why shocked? Canada follows trends from the United States so I understand why the delay. United States need some pointers from Canada on how to make poutine.

“Confederate-themed patch”? Seems more like a recognition of the unification/merge of those on opposite sides.

The “Blue and Gray” was coined as the nickname of the 29th Infantry Division by the division’s commander during World War I. The name commemorates the lineage of the mid-Atlantic states’ National Guard units that formed the division, many with service on both sides during the Civil War.

This one has some angles for me. I went to Rice University for a year, and used to live near Georgetown University, both of which adopted blue & gray to commemorate the “reunification” of the north and south. (Both were elite institutions, so really commemorating the restoration of rich Southerners doing business with Yankees.)
What are we commemorating with those colors? The reunification of the Northern and Southern peoples? But several slaveholding states never left the union, a couple were split between rival pro-Federal and pro-Confederate governments, and many inland White Southerners refused to obey the Confederate government which was a creation of lowland plantation owner interests. The Confederacy’s dirty secret was how few people it genuinely represented, as opposed to the many who adopted the Lost Cause & its symbols afterwards out of bitterness with Reconstruction. The twinning of the colors implies the outcome of the war was a tie.
What does it say when the “peoples” are represented by the colors of their army uniforms? Is that what people are, tribal warriors?
But then it’s even worse to say that blue and gray represents the unification of the Federal and Confederate armies, as if the latter lives on in the practices of the United States Army.

I’m not reading that much into it. A Yin Yang patch of Blue and Grey, worn on an Army Service Uniform, to me, says 29th Infantry division, commemorating units that fought against each other during a Civil War where brother fought brother.

Does that mean the MLS All-Star game will be black shirt vs Anthracite? How’s that going to look on TV?
