Happy Thanksgiving

Ah, Thanksgiving traditions — turkey, gravy, rooting against the Cowboys. It never gets old, right?

In the spirit of the holiday, I’d like to take a minute to give thanks to all the people who continue to make Uni Watch possible, including Ticker assistants Alex Hider, Jamie Rathjen, and Anthony Emerson; our two new Ticker interns, Lloyd Alaban and Yianni Varonis, who’ve been great additions to the team; “Collector’s Corner” columnist and Facebook editor Brinke Guthrie; membership card and Naming Wrongs designer Scott M.X. Turner; weekend contributors Terry Duroncelet, Joe Ringham, Rex Henry, Dennis Bolt, Ethan Dimitroff, Kyle Acker, Jim Vilk, Chance Michaels, Ronnie Bolton, and Graig Kreindler; webmaster John Ekdahl; proofreader Jerry Wolper; and, especially, deputy editor Phil Hecken, the best and most devoted bench coach and pal I could ever hope to have.

Big thanks also to Zac Neubauer, who provided the vintage postcard image that I’ve been featuring on these Thanksgiving posts for a decade now.

If you’re traveling today, travel safe. If you’re working today, thanks for keeping the world spinning while the rest of us take the day off.

As for me, the Tugboat Captain and I will be driving out to Long Island to spend Thanksgiving with my mom and brother. Our family isn’t big, but at least we’ll be together. It’s been a tough year, what with Mom’s stroke over the summer, but we still have a lot to be thankful for.

Everyone have a great holiday. Peace. — Paul

To all who keep the Uni Verse moving…

Thanks for all the Uni News, tweaks and animadversions – and a very peaceful Thanksgiving to us all.

Two drink max for Grandpa – “Loose lips spoil a good meal”, so lets all keep our eyes on the food not on the fool today.

    Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving greetings from your northerly neighbor. (and it does seem very northerly today)

Interesting to note, driving to the train station this morning, the radio traffic reporter indicated “Lighter than normal volumes”. The lure of afternoon football?

I don’t like to be pedantic, but I check in every Thanksgiving to see if you will still feature the postcard I sent your way in 2008.

    Keep up the good work.

Wait a minute — I thought that was from Robert Marshall! Apologies for the mis-attribution!! I’ll adjust today’s text to give you credit. Thanks so much for one of my favorite postcard images ever!!

Happy Thanksgiving! The most important thing to me is family. My family is giving me my early birthday present which is going to the Cowboys game!! I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and remember to hug your family a bit tighter because time is fleeting and you never know how much time you have with them.

Hey Paul, happy Thanksgiving and best wishes — this site (and its great community) are yet another thing to be thankful for!
