Greetings from Ithaca, New York, where the Tugboat Captain and I are spending Thanksgiving with her brother and his family.
I have a lot to be thankful for, including the many partners and collaborators who help make this website what it is. So please join me in giving thanks to Mike Chamernik, who does the Tuesday and Thursday Tickers and the Question of the Week; “Collector’s Corner” columnist Brinke Guthrie; T-Shirt Club designer Bryan Molloy; membership card designer Scott M.X. Turner; webmaster John Ekdahl; weekend contributors Gary Chanko, Terry Duroncelet, and Joe Ringham; and of course bench coach and deputy editor Phil Hecken, by far the hardest-working collaborator and most loyal friend anyone could ever hope for.
However you’re spending the day, I hope it’s a good one. Peace. ”” Paul

Paul, while in Ithaca, don’t miss Maxie’s Supper Club & Oyster Bar. Great Southern dishes. Happy Turkey Day to all!
Thank you for the dedication and hard work. Even on really crappy days, I always look forward to this site!
Thanks for all you guys do.
Happy Thanksgiving, all. Thanks so much for everything you do. I was thinking last night about how positive an effect Uni Watch has had on my life, both personally and professionally, and all of the amazing people who’ve become real, true cherished friends through my interactions here. It’s a wonderful thing.
Detroit Lions isn’t using throwbacks. First time in long time?
They haven’t worn them in a few years, actually. Last time was 2010.
Question: Are these NFL color rash games mandatory? Can a team just say no and not participate?
No pic, but Cam Newton is wearing the regular teal alternate, not the Color Flush jersey.
There is no Color Rash jersey, per se, for the Panthers. It’s their regular teal alternate. But Cam and a couple specialty positions have different jersey cuts (and have them with every jersey). So nothing out of the ordinary here.
Huh… while I haven’t seen or paid attention to many Panthers games, I’m amazed that the league would allow such a glaring difference between players. This wasn’t just the cut of the jersey; this was Newton and a few others wearing complete UCLA stripes (you know, the ones that Nike says they can’t do on a jersey?) vs. everyone else wearing a horseshoe on the outside of their shoulders. These were completely different jerseys, just the same color.
…. and so is the placekicker and holder/punter.
Thanks for taking the time to put out an interesting and unique column each day!
If you get a chance, while in ithaca go to coltivare. Great food and drink.
Are the Padres hats with the yellow on them that @SDHatguy has posted via Twitter going to be worn on-field for 2016?
