The South That Roared

The Predators are rolling out new road jerseys this weekend and new home jerseys in mid-July, but their new logo set began circulating yesterday (some people say it was a leak, others say it was planned this way all along, but whatever — it’s out there). Let’s take a look:

The new primary logo: A subtle change, but a strong one. Never liked the metallic gleam on the fangs or all the comic book-style gewgaws. The new version is simpler, stronger, better. So is it good or is it stupid? Good.

The new wordmark: Again, nothing too drastic, but a major improvement nonetheless. The old version looked like something out of arena football (or maybe just NikeLand); the new version says, “Okay, we’ve put away childish things.” I like the wider kerning on “Nashville,” too. Very, very good.

The new secondary logo: Really like the guitar pick shape. Two quibbles, though: First, the three stars are supposed to evoke the Tennessee flag — a good concept, but the stars on the flag are oriented differently than the ones on the logo. And second, this mark would be soooo much stronger without the “NP” initials at the bottom. Still, the guitar pick idea is excellent — here’s hoping they put this on a third jersey soon (at which point we should expect to see a lot of hockey stick air guitar). Good, but could’ve been even better.

The new initials: Whatever — not unattractive, but also not necessary. Feels like overkill. Stupid.

Overall, some major strides by the Preds — well done. Additional info here, here, here, and here.

Meanwhile, over in the NBA, several readers noted that the Knicks logo on the team’s online store appeared to ditch the black yesterday. Then someone put this style guide sheet up on Twitter. No idea how legit that is, or what it might portend for the team’s uniforms this fall, but the lack of black on the online store page is promising.

Important site-related issue: When we switched over from uniwatchblog.com to uni-watch.com last month, anyone going to a page with the old domain name was supposed to be automatically redirected to a corresponding page with the new domain name. And that’s exactly how it’s worked — until today. For reasons we’re still trying to figure out, uniwatchblog.com pages are failing to redirected and failing to load at all. So if you have a bookmark to an old page, update it. We’ll try to get this fixed pronto.

Uni Watch News Ticker: The 49ers, who had already announced plans to wear a Joe Perry memorial decal, are now adding one for John Henry Johnson (as noted by Mike Rowinski). ”¦ Dodgers and Tigers did the throwback thing yesterday. Additional pics here. It’s kinda sad when the visiting team honors the old school concept — at least pants/socks-wise — more than the home team does. ”¦ See how the collar on Salty’s chest protector looks like maybe it has something whited out or taped over? According to Dave Deslauriers, it originally said, “Phil 4:13” (that would be this passage from the Bible), but now he appears to have covered it up. ”¦ Ithaca College has called off its plan to have a new mascot (with thanks to Rick DiRubbo). ”¦ “The Japan Rugby Football Union is having a charity match between the National Team and the Top League XV (15),” reports Jeremy Brahm. “Here is the Top League XV uniform, which is based on the league’s logo.” ”¦ Bet you’ve never seen one of these before: a Star-Kist Tuna baseball uniform, complete with a Charlie the Tuna sleeve patch. ”¦ Here’s the WNBA ball that was for Tuesday night’s Shock/Storm game. The only problem is that Donna Orender, whose signature is on the ball, resigned as WNBA president back in December. “The president of the Shock told me that they have to preorder the balls six months in advance, so they didn’t have enough time to change the balls,” says Yogi Combs. ”¦ Larry Leibowitz informs me that the new issue of Food Arts magazine includes a photo featuring a certain T-shirt that’s near and dear to my heart. I still have a handful of them left — get in touch if you want in. ”¦ New football gloves for Nebraska. ”¦ The just-completed Yanks/Reds series ran from June 20-22. But the base jewels — or at least one of them — had the wrong end date (good catch by Doug Smith). ”¦ Jimmy Rollins is apparently doing some sort of publicity stunt with a super-charged bat, but I honestly don’t care enough to sift through the details (as noted by Adam Brodsky). ”¦ Scott Little co-owns a bowling alley, and his local beer distributor recently gave him a neon Rainier sign. Just one little problem: They misspelled their own brand. “Emil Sick must be rolling over in his grave,” say Scott. ”¦ Keith Stokes came across a site with lots of info on stadiums. ”¦ The MLS all-star jerseys are, in Matthew Robins’s words, “very scary.” ”¦ Here’s more about the elimination of the cigar from the Rays’ upcoming thowbacks (with thanks to Jim Donnelly). ”¦ Mack Abbott was driving in Ontario and saw a truck that had managed to rip off the L.A. Kings’ primary and secondary logos simultaneously. Plus the name of the trucking line sounds like a male porn star or something. ”¦ Notice anything unusual about this shot of Mets GM Sandy Alderson from last night? The logo placard behind him includes the old “NY,” which was banished from the team’s skyline logo way back in 1999. Now, the team always admitted that they left some of the old “NY”-inclusive logo signs scattered around Shea, but this is the first time I’ve noticed one of the old logos at the new ballpark. Kinda surprising that they didn’t spring for new signage, but I’m fine with it because I prefer the logo with the “NY” (great catch by Mike Baur). ”¦ I had my eye on this beauty but got outbid. Dang. ”¦ Cubbie catcher Koyie Hill took a foul ball off his mask that sent paint chips flying last night (screen shots courtesy of Matt Shepardson). ”¦ Here’s something really good: a history of the fallout shelter sign design (major thanks to David Gratt). ”¦ “Mexico played Honduras Wednesday night in the Gold Cup semi-final,” writes Coachie Ballgames. “Honduras wore white, leaving Mexico free to wear its traditional green shirt — but nope, all black. Even their crest was stripped of the national red, green and white.” ”¦ “I used to think USA rugby was too subtle with the jersey stylings,” writes Caleb Borchers. “They certainly don’t have that problem anymore. That kit debuted back on Saturday.” ”¦ Rolling Stone published a feature on Zach Galifianakis earlier this month. At one point they mention how he’s blown several potentially lucrative gigs, including this one: “After the success of The Hangover, Nike contacted him. ‘We had a conference call,’ he says. ‘The first thing I said was, “So, do you guys still have seven-year-olds making your stuff?”’ He didn’t get the job” (with thanks to Chris Flinn). ”¦ By now most of you have probably heard about yesterday’s brutal Tiki Barber interview. Personally, I don’t care who Barber’s fucking, which teevee network he is or isn’t working for, or that he somehow has the chutzpah to compare himself to Anne Frank. I also don’t care whether he’s capable of being a good football player anymore (well, maybe unless he catches a game-winning TD pass against the Niners). I wouldn’t care about why he’s coming back, either, except that he’s gone out of his way to tell everyone: “[Returning to football] is a redemption for me. I need to be good at something, I need something to get out of bed and look forward to, and something I’ve always been good at is playing football.” I’ll give Barber this much: He was way better at football than he was at, say, research. But what that quote really translates to is this: “Like most athletes, I’m a profoundly boring person and lack the imagination to do anything productive with my life.” Come on, dude — learn photography, take up the drums, do volunteer work, open an ice cream shop, teach kids to read, start a foundation, anything to show that you can actually be an engaged human being. Like I’ve been saying for years, spending most of your time in gyms, hotels, and airports does not produce an interesting person, and no amount of tooth bleaching can hide that.

    After Ohio State had like 3 penalties last year against Michigan for flashing their gloves to the crowd, wouldn’t you think companies would stop putting logos on the palms?

    I’m not sure which is more ridiculous. Gloves with logos on the palms, or the idea that flashing your school’s logo at the crowd is a 15 yard penalty.

    More ridiculous than either: Coaches permitting their players to wear said gloves, knowing that using them as intended will produce said penalty. If I’m an AD, I warn the entire coaching staff if that penalty is ever issued to any player in any game. A second instance and somebody gets fired. Permitting any player to wear what amounts to illegal equipment is no different from sending 12 men onto the field, from the perspective of a coach’s most fundamental responsibilities.

    Not when the players have been told it’s a penalty. For them to insist on doing it is ridiculous. And for the sneaker companies to continue to make goofball-looking gloves to tempt the kids into showing them off is even ridiculouser.

    People mock the NBA for chest-pounding and all that kind of stuff, but it’s worse in the NFL and college football.

    I loved Billy White Shoes Johnson and his act, but things of course have gone too far. It’s gone from spontaneous(ish) joy to premeditated buffoonery. Now, before I go on sounding like a “get off my lawn” guy, here’s a compromise: toss the ball to the ref, gather with your teammates on the sideline and do your thing without disrupting the flow of the game. That extra point is important, after all – don’t make the kicker wait.

    And none of that stuff when you’re behind on the scoreboard.

    No, they are not.

    With the players “look at ME!” attitudes these days, the celebratory shenanigans that would ensue would be beyond comprehension.

    Those MLS All-Star jerseys look like something from the Michael Jackson collection. “They’re bad. They’re bad. You now it.”

    After seeing the Food Arts photo with a certain illegal t-shirt and Tampa’s throwback troubles, why not just join the two into a marriage of culinary & uniform excellence? Replace the politically incorrect Cigar with a cut of meat, then have a special on brisket at the Trop?

    With the emphasis society has on disparaging smoking and tobacco products nowadays, it surprises me the Rays would follow through with a promotion like this. Don’t get me wrong; I can separate the two. But why bother wearing Smokers’ jerseys if all you then have to do is split hairs between honoring an old team and discouraging smoking?

    Right, because the fact they took the cigar off the jersey is going to keep me from smoking, even though they’re still fielding a team called “the smokers”. Why can’t some people understand (for one game at least) things were different 50 or 75 years ago when we all weren’t so politically correct? You’re honoring a team called the smokers for crying out loud but you’re going to take the cigar off…why again? Nobody is going to become a two pack a day smoker because theres a cigar on the uniform. [rant off]

    At least the last Mexico away shirt had green armpit panels and red Adidas striping.

    This one looks too much like Germany’s current away shirt.

    FIFA requires that all uni elements must be colored differently for the two teams, right? Honduras wore solid white so Mexico had to wear a dark jersey and dark shorts.

    What color shorts does the Mexican team wear with the green tops? They’re white, aren’t they? If so, that uni would not have been an option for them.

    Right, and with the gold trim on the black shorts, it would have just looked stupid with the green jersey.

    Speaking of the Gold Cup, did anyone else notice that a LOT of Panama players were having issues with the CONCACAF 50th anniversary patches coming off their sleeves?

    Not a valid argument – Mexico was the home team so they had first choice. Mexico could have chosen green/white/red and Honduras could have then gone with blue/blue/blue or even white/blue/white.

    Can you wear a white shirt or socks if your opponent is wearing white shorts? I thought that was a no-no.

    Also, it’s possible that the officials didn’t think blue vs. green contrasted well enough, forcing Mexico to wear black.

    Way late responding here…

    OK, for the Premier League it appears to be OK, but are the rules different for international competition?

    I live in Chattanooga, and sometimes I forget. I think there’s one in Atlanta too, right? Oh wait…

    Whalers did almost as well as the KC Scouts, but not quite as well as the Cleveland Barons.

    LOL! Let’s not forget the New York Americans, Montreal Maroons and the Hamilton Tigers, they all had amazing seasons.

    I am an Ithaca alum and I wrote a huge nasty gram to the university during their mascot search. The choices they put forward were extremely lame and tried to step away from the traditional name of the school. All of my friends that I graduated with felt the same and wrote negative reviews that went out to all alumni. Instead of embracing its past and utilizing a really unique nickname they tried to stride away with 3 horrible mascot ideas that had nothing to do with school tradition. I am glad they decided to nix the idea and stay with what they had.

    This is how pants are supposed to look! Just the right amount of length below the knee. Not too high. Finally someone got it right.

    Wow, some ballplayers just get it right! I was watching the Angels vs Marlins game last night and they showed Jack McKeon wearing high cuffs. Sorry, no picture, but it looked great.

    Third stripe covered by his ankle guard. Or, the third stripe fell of in the batting circle.

    The Tigers did look pretty good, based on the pics I saw (I was unable to watch the game itself). I didn’t see any baggy sleeves, and the pants for the most part were well done (Victor Martinez still went with shoe-length, though).

    Would’ve been nice to see some stirrups, though.

    heh…i know there’s a policy about ignoring anything posted on the bleacher report (and with good reason), but this one was written by my classmate (and one of my partners for a final project last semester on which we got a “A”)

    i’ll have to give him shit now

    The plan for the guitar pick secondary logo is for the Predators to use it as a shoulder patch, so the orientation of the stars relative to the flag really isn’t that important, as it won’t typically be displayed vertically.

    As to the leak/planned release issue, the Predators rolled it out yesterday exclusively to us bloggers, in simultaneous presentations in Las Vegas (where a few bloggers were covering the NHL Awards) and in Nashville. They felt that in this case, we’d be better placed to get the word out to fans than traditional print, radio, or TV media. I think they were right, as discussion is spreading like wildfire, and anticipation is building ahead of getting our peek at the new road jerseys this weekend.

    “…the orientation of the stars relative to the flag really isn’t that important, as it won’t typically be displayed vertically.”

    Maybe so, but the interlocking NP anchors the logo so that you know “which way is up” at all times.

    There actually isn’t a correct orientation for the stars on the flag. Tennessee law just says that no two stars can line up parallel to any edge of the flag. Check out Google Images… you’ll see a wide variety of arrangements.

    Not that I’m offended by or disagree with the comment above in any way, but I’m just pointing out that it was posted by the other Andy, not the usual one.

    Plus, there’s a difference between “evoke” and “be in every way exactly identical to.” Pointing out that the stars are oriented slightly differently is not a valid criticism of a design meant to “evoke” those stars. Anyone who knows what Tennessee’s flag looks like will see that pick design and recognize it instantly as the symbol from the flag.

    The initials on the pick, though, Paul is absolutely right: They don’t need to be there, and they actually take away from the impact of that logo as a piece of iconography. It would be stronger without them. It also suggests the mistake of naming the team the Predators instead of something that could have tied more directly into Nashville’s music heritage. Take away the initials, and the pick logo would become one of the strongest jersey crests in the NHL, provided of course that it had anything at all to do with the team’s name. Which it doesn’t, so it would be a mistake to use it as a jersey crest.

    It’d be perfect for the Nashville Dreadnought, for example.

    Dreadnoughts, that is. With an S at the end. Like every team everywhere should have.

    I was hoping that was a typo because “Dreadnought” would be one of the worst singular nicknames in the history of ever.

    So every team needs an S at the end of its nickname? link don’t work for ya?

    The X in Sox is a plural S. Try pronouncing it without making the sound of the letter “S” – when you do so, the word becomes “Red Sock.” Singular.

    The other exception is Moose. Not because moose is the plural of moose, but because moose is the plural of moose and it ends in an “S.” The history of the specific English usage by which we give teams plural names actually calls for using the plural even where the word would not take an “S” in an ordinary sentence. (The usage dates back to nicknames given to members of army regiments and ship crews in the 18th century and before.) So it would be the Detroit Deers, even though the plural of deer is deer.

    As a native of Alabama, I’m deeply confused. Crimson Tides? Um… yeah sorry, I just can’t agree.

    Crimson Tide = Red Water, and you have an elephant for a logo. Of course you’re confused. ;)

    /there’s nothing wrong with team names not ending in S

    “The other exception is Moose. Not because moose is the plural of moose, but because moose is the plural of moose and it ends in an “S.” “

    ~~~
    moose ends in “s”?
    /completely confused
    I hate non “S” ending names in the pro’s, but I’m ok with it in college.
    In college, teams primarily go by the name of the school. You rarely hear that the Crimson Tide will be playing the Green Wave. If you look at college football helmets, the mascot is rarely showcased.
    Exceptions in less than a minute:
    AZ State
    CU
    Utah
    TCU
    Texas
    Mich St.
    Fresno
    K State
    Maryland
    FSU
    LSU
    Fla.
    etc.
    “With an S at the end. Like every team everywhere should have.”
    The Utah Jazzs might have a problem with that.
    Actually it’d be perfect for the Nashville Kats, if they still existed.
    But, yeah… really doesn’t work very well with the Predators name.
    Nashville’s music heritage is well-represented by the pick. How many other teams have their civic entity’s heritage represented on their primary logo in hockey? How many have the civic entity represented at all?
    The Predators became a much more respectable-looking team with these changes, and they are reportedly retiring the apron look with the new jerseys as well.
    To Dirk: love your blog! Keep up the great work!
    Like their brethren Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville has tweaked a horrible logo and the result is something less horrible. I’ll give them that.
    The guitar pick logo–sans initials–is smart and striking. Too bad it’s not the primary logo.
    Oh, and those Tiger throwbacks look sweet!
    The whole Jimmy Rollins thing would be interesting, but should be saved for something like SportScience to cover. That being said, hopefully a “redbull” jinx doesn’t show itself again, as he was on a tear last year when he was supposed to attempt that, then got hurt and went on the DL.
    link counts as ditching the black?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Kudos to the Preds. This is an all-around upgrade for them.

    Yes, then “NP” logos suck, and I especially hate the guitar pick. I think they totally half-assed it by tweaking the stars, rendering it in team colors. But everything else they did is fantastic (relatively speaking).

    I like the Predators update as well. I wish the gold “whoosh” through the logo made a bit more sense, but I’m so glad the colors were simplified.

    As for the three stars, it’s worth noting that the Titans secondary logo does not have them oriented correctly, too.
    link

    It’s not so much the positioning of the stars I don’t like, it’s more that they recolored them.

    That NYK logo is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. If they’re ditching the black, they need to ditch that logo, too.
    As for the triangle logo, it looks good in just two colors.

    As a graphic element, the 3-stars-in-a-circle is so distinctive, it comes across as uniquely Tennessee no matter what the colors are. But I’m hoping they keep the fossil-head alternate logo; that’s a keeper.

    If only they would bring back the mustard as their primary color instead of that navy/black. Nationally people hated it but it had a real attraction in Nashvegas. It was distinctive, and isn’t that the point?

    That was some top-notch text in the ticker today Paul! It’s nice to see some true opinion from you stuck in there every now and then.

    It didn’t take much for Nashville to bring their logos from awful to serviceable. My hat’s off to them for not over-thinking it like Tampa Bay. Here’s hoping their road unis are gold.

    Regarding that story about the Green Bay G that was linked, the logo that accompanies the article is outlined in black?

    Was just watching SportsCenter an they were talking about the Knicks chances of drafting Jimmer. They showed the same Knicks logo as on the team shop website. So, Maybe that is a sign that the Black is gone!

    If you look at the draft board on NBA.com it’s the log sans black as well.

    link

    If you scroll down they’re pick 17 under the 16-30 tab.

    Good to hear the 49ers are doing something to honor Joe Perry this upcoming season, he was a great one. I’m hopeful the Steelers will honor John Henry Johnson too, maybe something like a “JHJ” on the back of the helmet would suffice. While Johnson did spend his first three seasons with San Fran, the vast majority and success of his career happened in Pittsburgh.

    In a separate issue, I always liked the mustard jersey of the Nashville Predators, although the nickname could have been more original. Hopefully, we’ll hear something soon about the Manitoba situation. Apparently, that organization is still debating what nickname to use, or they are still in the process of obtaining the Jets name. Maybe it’s a done deal, and there keeping it under wraps until the upcoming draft.

    The default situation upon a franchise moving is that the rights revert to the league. One of the few exceptions in the NHL was John McMullen held the rights to the Colorado Rockies for some time after moving the team to New Jersey. IIRC he didn’t give up the rights to the league until he sold the team to the current owner.

    That’s a great question, Mike Webster died in September 2002, and he would have deserved the honor. Did a quick internet search, and I couldn’t find anything to confirm. Thinking back, I really don’t remember, I think he died before his family filed a lawsuit against the NFL.

    Saw the Alderson interview and noticed the same thing about the “NY” in the Mets logo. At first, I thought it might be an old on deck circle from Shea, but I’m sure that, if it were still around after 2008, the Wilpons would have sold it.

    It reminded me (once again) that the organization is totally lost when it comes to self-identity. I agree with Paul about liking the logo better with the “NY” (and never understood why it needed to be removed), but is it asking too much to be consistent with your primary logo? In your brand new stadium?

    Also, would have liked to see the Mets do a throw-back for the A’s series. Oh, well.

    Good idea about the Mets also participating in a throwback game with the A’s, but the game was played in New York, and that’s the difference. If the Mets win that ’73 Series, I think you would have seen the throwbacks on both sides, maybe they’ll do it the next time the Mets are in Oakland.

    The Pirates were lucky the 40th anniversary of the ’71 Series coincided with the O’s coming to town, so that’s why it was such a big event.

    It would be interesting to see research on this subject to see if there has been any interleague throwback games commemorating a world series in which the losing team hosted and agreed to go along with the throwbacks.

    The White Sox wore 1959 throwbacks when the Dodgers came to town in 2005 and 2009.

    They didn’t do it this year, though.

    Good catch, I’m guessing overall it’s a pretty rare occurrence. Since the ’73 Mets beat the Reds to reach the WS that year, a throwback game at New York someday would be appropriate.

    If memory serves me, the Mets are fairly tight on throwback home games. They’ve worn the ’86 jerseys twice (once for a 3 game series to mark the 20th anniversary in 2006 and once in 2002) and they wore 1962 jersey on August 30, 1992 (the Reds wore throwbacks as well). Plus they wore the “fauxbacks” for a series against the Giants in 2009 (now remembered as the series in which David Wright got beaned).

    Unless someone comes up with a game I’m forgetting, that’s it.

    Left one out….on April 25, 2000 they wore the 1969 unis in a promotional tie-in for the Dennis Quaid movie “Frequency.”

    What disappoints me most about the Predators slight rebrand is the omission of the tiger skull. It was certainly too complicated to be a primary logo, but I always liked it as a sleeve patch. It was at once tough and silly, and it was a nice nod to Nashville’s history. To have replaced it with a pretty generic Tennessee tri-star logo seems pretty uninspired. Were they named the Tennessee Predators, it would seem more justified. Instead, they now rank among the billion (approx) Tennessee businesses that use the three stars and the second professional sports team in town to do it.

    The anti-Barber statements at the end of the blog were awesome. Well said. I’m going to share this with many people.

    Like someone else said, basically the Predators upgraded their look from “awful” to “not as awful”. As long as they’re saddled with such a silly nickname, I guess this is about as good as we can expect. But that guitar pick logo is so cool (minus the dumb NP), it shows what could have been as far as a great music-themed identity for the franchise. What a waste.

    Does anyone know what font Paul is using for the “Old” and “New” on the Predators design comparisons?

    Why do they always make the the screen print so worn looking? (rhetorical)
    They aren’t fooling anyone. The shirt is brand new, but the graphics are not?
    Just give it to us normal and let us wear it in (or out) ourselves.
    That’s why I stick to vintage. Not retro.

    Obviously not everyone will be able to find vintage clothing (that they like) for their favorite team in the right size. This is just an alternative to vintage if you like the look. Not that big of a deal.

    …and I didn’t mean hell no to retro.
    I just wish that they would stop making the logo look like it’s been washed 237 times.

    Of course it also doesn’t have to be priced at the equivalent of something that’s actually vintage. Sheesh.

    Please. You thought those were worn, check out these. link

    THATS a bit much, no?

    I love Red Jacket’s stuff – a lot isn’t as ‘worn’ as it appears on line.

    Though some is more ‘worn’ than online…

    I’m just happy for him that his eyes aren’t looking down the barrel of a pipe anymore.

    From the NHL’s Winnipeg page:

    “True North Sports & Entertainment Ltd. will make a significant hockey operations announcement in regards to the new NHL franchise in Winnipeg at a press conference scheduled for Friday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m.

    Due to the 2011 NHL Entry draft, the press conference wlll be held at the Westin Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota.”

    Can I read that as them unveiling the new team name/unis?

    Is it any wonder the team that eliminated “Devil” from their name would also eliminate the cigar from their “Smokers” throwbacks?

    Guitar strings, I’m guessing. Which could look awfully funny on non-vertical numbers.

    Anyone watching the NBA Draft? That hat that Brandon Knight got for being drafted by Detroit had the entire team logo blue. There was no red element in it at all. Seems like the other hats have the regular logo on it. Is this a proposed change, a defect, or just the way the hats are made?

    I missed his pick…not a Pistons fan so I used that time to check the dryer. If I see a pic I’ll post it.

    I did see the Wizards hat, though. Never occurred to me before, but that new dc logo looks a bit phallic.

    Yeah, but it looks even more so.

    And the early prize for best-dressed draftee goes to Kawhi Leonard. Don’t have a pic yet, but that suit is fly.

    All the caps seem to be one team color and white on the crown, with the other team color on the squatchee and the bill.
    link
    link

    Only picture I can find of Kawhi Leonard’s suit is this one. He’s on the far left:
    link
    Think I could pull it off wearing that?

    An appropriate choice for Kawhi, it would appear, because the Pacers have reportedly traded him to the Spurs. Looks like one of their old warmups.

    Cavs? Meh. I wanted Derrick Williams. Oh well…at least he looks good in a T-Wolves draft hat:
    link

    I’ve seen worse fade patterns on a hat before. I wouldn’t buy one, but I’d wear one.
    link

    Something told me to buy a Kings shirt at the discount store last month…they got Jimmer!

    They’re letters in blue, yellow and white. It’s pretty hard to break new ground…

    So to answer your question, “No, no one thinks Nashville logo’s look like a knockoff of Marquette.”

    I know this has probably been answered before, but why doesn’t a single NHL teams wear white pants?
