Amusingly, the swoosh is still visible on the exposed jock tag of Kawhi’s jersey in that cover photo. I’m wondering if the SI cover layout designer was even aware of that; it would be amusing if they intentionally left that swoosh uncovered.

On the #TakeNote hashtag item, it seems it’s swung back to the Jazz. It’s not noticeable if you’re viewing Twitter in Dark Mode, though, since the Jazz note emoji is solid black.

The ЯR text looks ridiculous in this format.

For a site that nitpicks and analyzes details, taking a graphic symmetrical logo and translating it into text is usually not feasible.

Is it that hard just to write “Reverse Retro” or “RR” versus trying to emulate something you can’t?

taking a graphic symmetrical logo and translating it into text is usually not feasible.

Actually, it’s been perfectly feasible in every other setting in which I’ve done it (including the blog’s original design, Bulletin, Substack, InsideHook, and more). But yeah, for some reason it doesn’t work with the blog’s new font, so I’ve changed it to “RR.”

I’ll never understand AZ’s approach to uniforms. Just splotches of red or white here and there. Almost as absurd as The Titans underarm panel thingy that they opted half into.
