MLB
- Embarrassing: MLB’s uni advertiser for umpires, the crypto exchange FTX, has filed for bankruptcy after their entire exchange collapsed and salacious details about the personal life of CEO Sam Bankman-Fried were revealed. FTX is also the naming advertiser for the Miami Heat’s arena, and also advertises on Mercedes F1 cars. (From multiple readers)

- Here are today’s uni combos for UConn and Virginia Tech.
Hockey
NHL
- On Thursday night, the Rangers hosted many players’ fathers in a luxury box. They gave each father one of their son’s jerseys, but with woefully inaccurate NOB arching.
Soccer
International
- Germany: Borussia Mönchengladbach hosted a “diversity match” yesterday, wearing their black third kits with rainbow accents. On Thursday, the club put out a statement expressing their opposition to the World Cup being held in Qatar, so it’s likely the timing of their diversity match was deliberate. (Thanks, Jamie)
- Sticking in Germany, the Bundesliga’s official English Twitter page posted some American football helmet designs promoting their last matchday before the World Cup break. (From Billy Braden)

The Virginia Tech link in college football is what their women’s basketball team is wearing.
How much do you want to bet that Japan will wear their softball tops WAY more than those pinstriped beauties?
They’ll only wear them when designated the road team.
They’re very Astros-y, just need a little Tequila Sunrise under the arms.
Any thoughts on who MLB sells the umpires’ uniform advertising for next year? Maybe one of the high tech companies (Meta, Amazon, Google) who have laid off thousands this year?
Considering the long-tired refrain of umpires being “paid off” to make calls benefit one team over the other, one would think that connecting them to financial-related businesses could seem problematic. If they have to wear an advertising patch, why not use one of the league’s other non-financial/banking/credit sponsors like Hankook, Geico, DQ, or T-Mobile?
If only someone had written about this earlier… ;)

Japan’s best move was getting rid of the word mark on the hat for the J monogram.
