- A historical nugget that we may have covered before, but just in case: The A’s were close to moving to Denver in 1978, and the Giants were set to play half of their home games in Oakland. The Giants confirmed they would wear caps without the interlocking “SF” logo for those Oakland games. Of course, none of this happened — though we’re still talking about the A’s moving. I wonder if the Spain GK having his crest located in a different spot has to do with his actual shirt. To me, it looks like the collar on his is different, and comes down lower than the rest of the team. Maybe didn’t have enough room under it to have the number, crest and maker mark like the others.
Robo-Penguin hit the ice in 1992-93. That was an amazing NHL season for a young uni watching hockey fan.
Not just the Penguins with a big uniform redesign. Whalers, Devils, and Maple Leafs with big redesigns too.
Two more brand new uniforms for new expansion teams. Senators and Lightning.
Other minor tickering with the numbers for the Kings and shade changes for the trim colours for the Canucks.
I would be for the Portland Winterhawks transitioning their new alternate to their primary someday. Better than the primary black uniforms. The Winterhawks belong in red as the primary uniform colour.
Interesting, there are a bunch of purple street lights in a neighboring subdivision. It is really odd, hopefully they are in fact defective and are replaced soon.

New XFL unis unveiled today…

The NC State unis were closer to fauxbacks. Adidas got the “STATE” font on the jersey and the “PACK” on the shorts largely correct and the numerical font was close. But because of Three Stripes’ uni template, the border striping and such was way off.
It’s not that I expect the same material, shorter shorts as they wore during the NCAA title run 40 years ago. But, IMO, this was barely a half-hearted effort. Do better, Adidas.
Surprising to learn that the A’s were considering a move so soon after the height of their 3 consecutive championships from 1972-1974.
Wait, did Mean Joe take the jersey back that he gave the kid in the Coke commercial?
That Portland alt sweater is the nicest thing I’ve seen today!
Curious about the purple light but can’t finish the article. Really long winded. I’m guessing the author was paid by the word.
