Guess The Game…
…From The Scoreboard
Today’s scoreboard comes from Tom McFarlane.
The premise of the game (GTGFTS) is simple: I’ll post a scoreboard and you guys simply identify the game depicted. In the past, I don’t know if I’ve ever completely stumped you (some are easier than others).
Here’s the Scoreboard. In the comments below, try to identify the game (date & location, as well as final score). If anything noteworthy occurred during the game, please add that in (and if you were AT the game, well bonus points for you!):
Please continue sending these in! You’re welcome to send me any scoreboard photos (with answers please), and I’ll keep running them.
April 15, 1958…first West coast meeting between NYC traitors.

Fun (or not so, depending on how you look at it) fact: The Seals Stadium site is now a Safeway
Wondered if the scoreboard next to the LA/SF game was from Harvey Haddix’s 12-inning perfect game against the Milwaukee Braves that he ended up losing…
The Haddix 12-inning game was in May.
…of 1959.
Tuesday May 26, 1959.
Dodgers at Giants
Seals Stadium
Figured it was Seals Stadium. Confirmed in pics that this was the scoreboard. Then looked at the distance and it was 400 to center in 1959. Looked at the schedule to find when they played St Louis after the Dodgers. And it was May 25 or May 26. They were shut out on May 25 so it had to be May 26.
Nope. The score by innings for the game doesn’t match. Nor do the other games — Pit-Mil is right (and that WAS the Harvey Haddix game), but Chicago didn’t play St. Louis. Steve D. above (4/15/58) looks to be correct.
Ahh, I see now. I neglected the box score runs by inning. Or the other games.
