Bizarre scene in this ABC Sports graphic, which appears to show Old Dominion running back Ray Lawry with an extra arm (which, just to keep this uni-related, isn’t wearing a glove)! Well, coaches always tell you to protect the ball at all costs, and Lawry seems to be taking that maxim to heart. Big thanks to Gottlieb Marmet for the screen shot.
That’s all for today, kids. Enjoy your Laborious Day, and get set for my annual NFL season preview, which will be running tomorrow on ESPN. See you then. ”” Paul
Thank you, Thing!
That’s just a product placement by Starbucks, complementing those 4 arms guy commercials they have running now.
In case anyone is wondering why Ray Lawry has three arms…
here ya go.
A simple google search yielded this. And of all the photos there, they couldn’t have chosen one where a defender didn’t actually have a piece of the ball?
I would have never figured that out… thanks Phil. :D
It was fairly obvious to me without looking it up that it was a defender’s hand in there, but thanks for looking for the source!
I think the really groundbreaking fact about Ray Lawry’s extra arm is that it’s white. That and the equipment staff couldn’t hook him up with a glove for his third hand.
Virginia Tech’s lids are spectacular.
it doesn’t look like the Buckeyes have the buckeye leaves or word buckeyes on the back of their unis tonight.
This is why coaches teach kids not to “arm-tackle” a running back…
