[Editor’s Note: Last week I mentioned that DIY submissions had slowed to a trickle. Reader Kenny Montross responded with a really good contribution that I’ve decided to run today as a guest-written entry. Enjoy. — PL]
By Kenny Montross
Growing up as a Houston sports fan, I always wanted a Hakeem Olajuwon jersey, but I never got one. So after reading about some DIY projects on Uni Watch, I decided to make my own — with a twist. I never really liked wearing basketball jerseys and much prefer baseball jerseys. So I made a Houston Rockets baseball jersey:
I did it by buying a plain white jersey off of eBay, along with some red twill and red/gold ribbon from the local sewing supply store. The most useful tool on this project was a product called Wonder Under, which turns any fabric into an iron-on. I ironed it onto the back of the twill, traced the letters and numbers onto the Wonder Under, cut them out, and then ironed them onto the jersey. After that I made the letters and numbers permanent by using a sewing machine and a zig-zag stitch. I got a “Back to Back Championships” patch off of eBay and used that as a sleeve patch. And then I added some pants and striped stirrups (also from eBay) to create a full uniform, which I used as my Halloween costume.
I have DIY’d three football helmets since creating the Rockets jersey. I attended Texas A&M, so I scored a replica Georgia helmet on eBay and decided to turn it into my own Aggies helmet:
The hardest part of this project for some reason was finding maroon paint, especially metallic like A&M switched to in the early 2000s. I eventually found Duplicolor auto body spray paint at the auto parts store. It turns out that Ford’s Dark Toreador Red is almost exactly the same color as the Aggies’ maroon. It’s also a lacquer as opposed to a enamel, and is a little bit more expensive, but is harder and should last longer. I got all of the decals from eBay and am extremely happy with the end result.
The other two helmets I’ve made were a Christmas gift for my dad last year. I went to A&M, but he’s been a University of Texas fan since he was in elementary school, so I got a pair of helmets with two-bar facemasks as a package deal, again off of eBay, and recreated the helmets from the 1969 Thanksgiving game — Aggies vs. Longhorns. Texas won the National Championship that year, but A&M had the better uniforms (in my opinion) and they were wearing the original “aTm” helmet design. Unfortunately, I didn’t photograph these helmets before giving them to my father.
Back before I did my own helmet, I showed my A&M pride by repainting my bike. (The odd handlebars originated on the island of Kwajalein, where my wife grew up. It allows for a more relaxed, upright riding style.) And when I got married back in August, I had a groomsmen cake based on the A&M baseball team’s maroon home jersey. I also wanted to get stirrups for my groomsmen, but I had a problem with my local supplier and e-mailed Robert Marshall in panic. He delivered with solid blue for my groomsmen and ’57 Cubs-style stirrups for myself just in time.
Paul here. Big thanks to Kenny for sharing his projects. And as long as we’re talking DIY, here’s a note I got last night from Stetson Pevear:
I just finished making a Princeton University throwback football jersey for my girlfriend, a Princeton student. She had mentioned that wanted one of these before she graduated, but I cannot stand authentic replicas, so I decided to make her a much cooler and unique jersey:
I used a plain long-sleeve black tee. For the numbers, I used a white varsity block font on an orange background, like the current home jersey. My favorite part is my addition of the Princeton shield on the lower-right of the front, where many jerseys have a size tag. All appliqués were hand-sewn and made of felt.
Good stuff. More DIYism coming soon.

Uni Watch News Ticker: Super Rugby — the professional league of New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa — is adding a 15th team this season, the Melbourne Rebels. “Their first jerseys are now out and they look pretty good,” says Caleb Borchers. ”¦ Dick’s Courtroom — the closest thing we ever had to a historical survey of NBA uniforms — recently fell off the face of the internet. But now, thankfully, it’s back. ”¦ Typo alert: Rob Niedermayer has been wearing a misspelled NOB for three straight games without even realizing it (big thanks to Tim Tryjankowski). ”¦ Regarding those stick-on thingies on Ray Rice’s arms: Turns out Rice already addressed this, sort of, on his Facebook page back on Dec. 13, when he wrote, “A lot of you have been asking me about the patches on my arms. I’ve been testing this new product to help me focus and stay on my game. I can’t tell you what it is now, but stay tuned for more info soon!” Sounds like the latest Tooth Fairy hokum, but it’s more fun to assume that it’s an LSD patch, so let’s go with that (with thanks to Robert Onolfi). ”¦ New soccer kit for Brazil (with thanks to Kenny Loo). ”¦ Eric Stangel found a game-used Joba Chamberlain cap with an underbrim inscription. ”¦ Reprinted from yesterday’s comments: Majestic has produced a pretty good video clip that shows how an MLB jersey is made. ”¦ New sweatbacks for Illinois (with thanks to Erik Spoonmore). ”¦ Looks like the Habs’ jersey patch for the Heritage Classic will be en français” (pics courtesy of Mike Engle). ”¦ Lots of gossip and rumors about a new Purdue football uni, although I have no idea how legit any of it is (with thanks to Nick Traxler). ”¦ Another school wearing winged helmets in the 1930s: Texas A&M. No firm date, alas — just a decade — so it’s hard to know where this fits in the winged chronology (with thanks to William Banowsky). ”¦
Interesting video about the making of MLB jerseys.
Since Majestic puts on the names and numbers, are they the ones to blame for teams (most notably the Braves) ditching the vertically arched NOB? It seems like right around when Majestic became the sole provider of uniforms, Atlanta made the switch.
I understand the time and extra money it takes to make a vertically arched nameplate, but it still looks weird to see the Braves with radially arched NOB.
It’s also since Majestic became the sole provider that the numbers on number-only jerseys (and sometimes also names on NOB jerseys) have moved well south of the traditional 4 inches below the top of the collar, making all but the really big guys look really off-balance.
Get those numbers back where they belong!
Which makes no sense, considering they do it just fine on the Yankees’ jerseys.
Unless they do it all in house. I know that the Yankees paid to not have the majestic logo on their uniforms (lame as hell) so maybe Majestic just sends them the blanks.
Anyone?
I know that the Yankees paid to not have the majestic logo on their uniforms (lame as hell)
~~~
why exactly is a team paying to NOT have a makers’ mark lame?
if teams did that to nike or adidas, we’d be extolling them as champions of industry
MM, I think the A’s equipment manager who was profiled here (Steve Sale, IIRC) mentioned that the Yankees were very particular about that detail. I wish the other teams would stand up for themselves and demand perfection, particularly when Majestic is demanding to have its logo on the jerseys. (What’s lame is that the Yankees have to *pay* Majestic to *not* include a patch.)
It does make sense to pay not to have the patch. That patch is advertising for the company, so it seems only fair that Majestic gets recouped somehow for lost exposure. Especially on a jersey as exposed as the Yankees.
Phil:
I dunno, it seems like more of Yankee arrogance rather than a team standing up against an evil jersey manufacturer who wants to slap their logo on every piece of clothing and equipment.
I don’t feel like the Majestic logo takes anything away from classic uniforms like the Tigers, Cardinals or Dodgers. I don’t think it is out of line for a lesser known manufacturer (compared to Nike and Adidas) to put ONE logo on the sleeve of the uniforms they make.
If the Packers did the same thing to Nike in 2012, I would view it just as lame. But hey, it is the Yankees money and Majestic could’ve refused.
well, we’ll just have to agree to disagree there
although i will agree with your sentiment about yankee arrogance…i’d still wish teams in the bigs could refuse (read: pay off) the evil reebox (in football and puck), and adidas/nike/UA in college…to keep their goddam makers marks OFF the unis
but since it’s majestic and not nike, i think somehow you’re viewing that as the yankees taking a shot at an american (small) company — but if adidas made the yankee unis, and they were paying them to keep that logo off, you’d be jumping for joy (me suspects)
of course, all of this started (i believe) when the yankees signed that multizillion dollar contract with adidas (which has since expired), and has now signed with nike
so it’s probably not even yankee $$$ keeping the majestic logo off there, it’s adinike
nonetheless, one less manufacturer’s logo, the better imho
I think seeing this action as a negative ( at least in our uni-centric universe ) is just another knee jerk reaction that everything the Yankees do is evil or wrong….. I think it’s pretty cool that a team would be willing to pay to keep a manufacturer’s logo from “soiling” their unis.
I wish more teams would this…..
I guess I just don’t view the Yankees’ choice as one that was done to preserve the sanctity of the uniform. If they were so concerned with that aspect, they wouldn’t allow players to go on the field with silver shoes, pajama pants, titanium necklaces, etc. Like Phil said, it was done to keep a competing logo out of the way for Adidas/Nike.
I am probably the minority, but I don’t mind company logos as long as it is restrained. A reebok logo on each sleeve, a Majestic logo on the left sleeve, a nike logo on the shoulder, or and adidas logo below the neckline. All are examples of logos that really don’t cross a line for me.
The line for me is when companies start making template designs that let people know it is a certain suppliers product just by the looks. The Nike horns in NCAA BB or the three stripe element on uniforms comes to mind. If Majestic tried something like that, I wouldn’t be too happy.
And no, it doesn’t have anything to do with Nike vs. small town companies. It doesn’t have anything to do with hating the Yankees (I believe the Cardinals did the same thing with Riddell prior to Majestic. Equally dumb).
What if the Yankees are just paying back their piece of what Majestic pays to them and their 29 partners?
My dad is an aggie, and he told me he can remember a picture of an aggie player with the winged helmet in 1939
(As his dad was an aggie), he graduated in 67′
“Reprinted from yesterday’s comments: Majestic has produced a pretty good video clip that shows how an MLB jersey is made.”
No wonder the arching of MLB names has disappeared over the past few years…does it look like Connie cares about a proper arch? She’s got Mr. Roche over her shoulder making sure she hits her numbers! ;)
On a serious note, I didn’t see a name layout board near her workstation. They are used to align perfect arches.
That Purdue uni looks like ProCombat. It’ll probably be worn for one or two games, just like all the others, while the regular home uniform probably won’t change much.
The solid black stripe on the helmet and the old gold numbers are nice changes.
Clemson wears Pro Combat full time, as does Oregon, and that is the new Pro Combat design (stitching on the collar like Oregon’s BCS jersey) so I would guess legit on this one. I think they should have gone with the solid black ‘P’ since there is no white elsewhere on the uniform.
Oooh, good point, Andy. I hadn’t thought of the Clemson/Oregon examples. I always thought it was interesting that most teams only get to wear the super-special uniforms once or twice. If they’re so useful in making these kids better athletes, then why not employ the functionality principles full-time? The uniforms don’t have to look special; they just have to perform special, so to speak (I know–bad grammar).
I do hope Purdue goes with something like these, although I would prefer them in gold pants.
I remember Clemson wearing Nike PCs in 2009 against the South Carolina Gamepussies, but I don’t think they wear the PCs full-time.
I know Oregon uses the Nike PC mesh pant (which can work for any team with solid color pants (Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, Florida State, Michigan, UCLA, etc.). I know that ND, UCLA, and UM (or “scUM” as rpm likes to call ’em) are with Adidas, unfortunately, and Texas wore PC in ’09 against aTm, and I think a few Penn State players wear the PC pant already, but you get the point.
Give me a few minutes to make a Nike PC version of the FSU uni…
P.S. @Anthony: Agreed. Gold pants, and it’s a deal.
Cancel that mock-up. The Nike Uniform Builder is going through a renovation (sp?), so the PC templates are pretty wacky right now.
Got ’em done.
here…let me help your Epic FAIL out a little bit
Wow…that Brazil shirt has a small green bar on the front…for no apparent reason. That looks turbl.
If the stripe went all the way across, it would look great.
I agree with Andy, though I think the overall simplicity and lack of clutter is classic and attractive. Lack of clutter except for the Evil Swoosh, of course. I also like Nike’s new French national team jersey, featured yesterday. It would be wonderful if everything Nike were abominable, but they’ve produced some nice designs in the last few months.
Oh, I agree about France. I actually thought about buying that France shirt before coming to my senses.
They should have just left the bar/stripe off…solid yellow and solid blue look great for Brazil.
No argument on that point.
That’s the guy with wireless communication equipment in his knee pads.
I read somewhere that it’s supposed to evoke tribal warpaint. Um, okay. I mean, Brazil has never evoked indigenous culture in any of their previous garb. It’d be like the USA adopting American Indian symbols and motifs for the US Olympic Team uniforms.
Both of which, by the way, are perfectly laudable ideas. As long as they are rendered properly. Not so sure about Nike’s attempt for Brazil.
cool stuff kenny!
if i ever do get remarried, it will definitely be in rpm-supplied rups & both the hakeem uni & a&m lid were sweet — nice job
also loved the princeton throwback
The Princeton throwback is great. I’ve long wanted to learn how to sew better so I can make my own items like that.
I hate Princeton, and so am gratified by the crappy football outfits they’ve been sporting in recent years. Once upon a time, however, the bastards had some of the greatest unis of all time, as Stetson Peaver’s DIY project demonstrates. Fabulous job. The girlfriend should still transfer out, though.
1. LOVE the Princeton DIY!
2. A few days ago, Paul linked to Dan Koppen wearing a picture of Tom brady on his back.
The pictures were from Brady’s famous GQ Photoshoot where he posed in some questionable scenes:
Okay, that’s an interesting collar on that Habs jersey. I’m thinking that’s a replica, as the official Heritage Classic unveiling last August showed the current Edge jersey with the old, pre-1997 style numbers. However, that jersey has an old CCM-style multi-layered collar, except done with the current Edge blue-white instead of the pre-Edge blue-white-blue.
So, Rob, how do you rate the Habs jersey against others of the Ancient Six?
Those are my pictures. Yes, I’m confused myself. Those pictures were from a sports store in downtown’s Eaton Centre. But the Habs Shop (no pictures from there) offer EDGE-esque “Premier” jerseys, i.e.: the normal current white replicas with the HC patch and the different number typography, unlike what is pictured.
So yes, it’s very plausible that it’s the EDGE template transcribed onto a traditional replica jersey, but it doesn’t change the fact that it could be an “inaccurate” retail jersey, and it certainly doesn’t change the fact that it looks like crap.
Before I read the description, I saw the pic of the Aggies bicycle…. The handle bars gave me flashbacks of riding through the palm trees in the pouring rain on the way to the mess hall…. then spending the off days diving the wrecks in the lagoon…
“Sounds like the latest Tooth Fairy hokum, but it’s more fun to assume that it’s an LSD patch, so let’s go with that”
The thought of what it could possibly be like for an NFL running back to play high on LSD will keep me cracking up all day……I hope I don’t remember during my presentation this afternoon!!
It worked for Doc Ellis, didn’t it?
It may have. I’m only familiar with the legend of Dock Ellis.
Doc, Dock, whoever.
Who knows, maybe Dwight Gooden pitched on LSD, too.
It might be a shorter list to say what Gooden didn’t pitch on.
Can not view the Kenny Montross DIY entry. Pictures are not visible. ?????????????
Oh, now one is working, but not the second.
The #39 Aggie is most certainly John Kimbrough. He played for A&M from 36-40.
I spent most of my short-pants years running around in the La Crosse “Bart Starr” canvas shoes purchased yearly at our local 5-and-dime by my mother.
Nice work on all the DIYs but as a Georgia alum I have to say that’s a sad end for a Georgia helmet. Payback for the ’09 Independence Bowl, I suppose.
Very nice work on the DIY stuffs. The Rockets jersey is rather cool. I do kinda wonder why you’d buy a Georgia helmet and DIY it instead of just buying an A&M helmet… but the end result looks good.
I was wondering the same thing re: A&M helmet. It’s not like they are hard to find; there are ~60 on eBay at this moment. Curious if there is some minutiae in the A&M authentics that the replicas do not capture.
The only reason I got a UGA helmet was I got a good deal on it. I figured I’d get atleast 1 UGA grad that wouldn’t like what I started with.
There were two reasons behind doing my own. A)I enjoyed creating the ones for my dad and wanted to make another and B)A&M switched to a metallic maroon in 2000 and all of the replicas that I had seen were just gloss paint without the metal flake.
I was looking for another aTm winged helmet…haven’t found one yet. But check out this awesome 1960s SW Conference mascot illo…
link
I can’t help but think that Aggie looks like R. Lee Ermey. I think it’s the hat.
There is also an link on my site @ southwestconferencefootball.com. They had them for all conferences (I have Dad’s 8×10 prints) and you could get the images on cards and a variety of other items. If you go to my site, you can click under the Family Portraits to see the original brochure for them!
That artwork was so cool. I have seen a few of those from conference in the late 60’s
And I know Texas A&M wore that style helmet in 1939. Not sure if they did any sooner.
The eBay link for the Joba Chamberlain game-used hat lists that “the hat still maintains a slight odor of sweat use”.
Big selling point for me . . . ick.
Chimp/Skip:
I’m sure you’ll both be thrilled to read this bit of link.
at least we’ll know where the flag is
Yep. It’s still *there*.
In among the 1930s Aggie football photos, I’m surprised no one has commented on link combining Northwestern stripes with an unusual (at least to me) yoke treatment.
Oooh, that’s a beauty. Nice one!
It’s interesting to me. This seems similar, in a way, to the kind of irregular uniform design elements we’re seeing nowadays, like Phil’s ‘bumper stickers,’ contrasting yokes, etc., yet, it seems the average classicist uniform savant would enjoy this uniform but despise it if a company like Nike did the same design today. I’m the same way. I like this one better than similar designs that have recently surfaced.
i’d like to have seen that in color and in action…but honestly, just from that still…can’t say im a fan of that (and despite what many here may think — just because it’s “old” doesn’t mean it’s “good” — i don’t really like this as a design element period…didn’t like the “batman” stillers, either, as an example)
also don’t like raglan sleeves (in constrasing colors)…just looks odd, to my eye
Those weird link are another good example.
Lots of people here (Paul, especially) love them, others (I’m among them) think they’re awful.
The blue road uniforms they wore around that time (white numbers with blue borders!) were awesome.
Back to the old argument of bad enough to be good. That Cubs jersey is great. Ugly and awesome. Just picture that on the field today. ugh. But I still give a pass to old stuff for some reason. Maybe deep down I think they just didn’t know any better. Anyway, it’s cool. And the Steelers Batmans are good-good, not bad-good. Life is right again. Lil Phil and I disagree. Sorry Phil, that ‘Lil’ ain’t going away any time soon.
Here is link of the same uni set from 1939 – no wings (I would imagine all helmets did not match at the time…)
That Cubs uni leaves me feeling so conflicted. I feel like I shouldn’t like it and I would never design something like that in a hundred years. And yet, there’s something there that draws me to it. I wish I could explain it, but I don’t really understand it myself.
do you think it is just the general cut of today’s uniform and that of yesteryear that makes a difference? like he fact that the aggie has sleeves, but say that navy alt, or buffalo has no sleeves. then there is the fabric, etc.
as for the cub, that is aaaaaaawful.
looking forward to sunday jimbo?
Yep. Except that I’ll be in the air for at least the entire first half of the Bears/Packers game.
With any luck I can get on an earlier flight so that I can watch the whole thing.
the jet settin’ hawaiian gets back from LA tomorrow and wanted to take a train up to chicago to tailgate and watch the game in the parking lot(she can’t wait to murder the packers), but i had to break it to her that chicago changed their tailgating rules, and you need a ticket to stay in the lot after game time. she was none too happy. LA-CHI-NYC within 2 weeks for her, but i guess that is the plum the rookie recruiter gets when she sits atop her schools board for incoming freshmen. KCAI is going to win a painting national champeenship.
“It’s interesting to me. This seems similar, in a way, to the kind of irregular uniform design elements we’re seeing nowadays,…”
No it doesn’t.
And Nike kills children.
no, it does. the image is a lot like say the navy design, but with sleeves, and without extra piping and space age fabrics. it really is quite similar. but you are right, i hear nike doesn’t shovel their walk, OR, even better, my absolute least favourite…clear their damn car before taking the road. worst thing ever, driving down the interstate behind some jag-off that only cleaned a 1″ spot on their window and drives down the street with 6″ of snow all over the rest of their darn car for it to blow off, and come off in chunks that hit you. boy that grinds me.
I think we have actually talked about this jersey on Uni Watch… probably where I got this link from!
Sorry – messed up the link!
Cool!
I submitted the ‘Yaz Sportsmanship Club’, only because I had been going through Ball Four again, and came upon the passage where Bouton had read a column in a Boston paper complaining about Yaz loafing it on the bases – which immediately reminded me about there being a ‘Yaz Bread’ around after the Sox’ 1967 Impossible Dream season – Arnold even put it out here in hardcore Yankee territory – and so out of curiosity I searched eBay for ‘Yaz Bread’ – and voila!
BTW – one of thumbnails has a nice closeup of the stirrups!
also, considering everything, kind of ironic that half the rules are like, ‘always play hard’….’never give up- always bear down’…etc, etc….
according to this article, Soriano has been given his #29 with the Yankees… So how does Cirvelli feel about loosing his number.
With the addition of Russell Martin, and Jose Molina looming, its pretty safe to say Cervelli is either trade bait or heading back to Scranton soon….
I don’t think Cervelli would care he wore number 229, if it meant he was back up in the bigs….with the addition of Martin his time in the Bronx is numbered.
It’s too bad, I liked how Cervelli hustled and the energy he brouth to the team….but he isn’t an every day catcher…
A Rockets baseball jersey? Does that count as cross-dressing? ;)
Great project, Kenny! That was one of my favorite NBA unis, so I’m glad to see it…even in an unconventional manner.
Does Evansville still wear short-sleeved jerseys? They did as of a few years ago, but I haven’t really watched them since.
I assume Evansville wears tank-tops now. Not sure, maybe someone can help. But, yes they wore the sleeves up until around 1998. They first wore tank-tops in 1977, then tragedy struck and they went back to sleeves. I hope it was unrelated.
I was thinking they were wearing sleeves even more recently than that, but my memory on the matter is pretty fuzzy, and in my advanced age of 24 and a half, I find the years blurring together more and more.
I saw Evansville play on TV a few weeks ago. They wear sleveless jerseys.
Oh, man, yes, nostaliga just isn’t what it used to be.
Why are the Aggies usually the whipping boy of their baseball conference (SWC, now Big 12-2)? Its hard for a major Sun Belt school NOT to make the CWS year after year.
When I saw the link to the Illinois sweatback, I was cringing (or delighting?) in anticipation of a humongous Chief circle logo.
Would you rather be like Rice and destroy your conference then fail to make the CWS every year?
I don’t think you could call A&M ‘whipping boys’ in their conference. Maybe Texas’ baseball whipping boy, but other than Texas (who had 64), A&M had the most SWC championships with 15. It’s hard to compete with arguably the best college baseball program of all time.
i loved the posters yesterday, i might need to thumb through those for more stirrup party posters.
as much as i like seeing the stirrup friday shots, i absolutely love seeing the wedding party pixtures, they always make me feel good. and this one was awesome, i love the groom being a little different from the groomsmen.
i might need to thumb through those for more stirrup party posters
~~~
YES!
that was the first thing i thought of when i saw some of them…”which ones of these will marshall turn into rup posters?”
if i could work the nail head/nail foot into it somehow, you could bank that one, but that might be tricky. there were a few that were excellent, but it is a matter of finding one where i could work in a hose related context. like there were a couple with someone falling off a roof. maybe it is a stirrup friday thing, and the guy who didn’t fall off is wearing his stirrups. that was just top of my head, i looked through them but didn’t really try to break ’em down.
link in the shin is perfect.
Guy on the right is like “What the fuck do you want me to do about it? Shoulda been wearin’ yer ‘rups, Comrade.”
yes, yes it is.
i still think moose’s idea of working this in somehow is awesome
Nail to the head & foot would be good as well. But like he said, it’s a tricky one.
i have found tons of great posters and such in the past, but it is tricky to make them work. i like to think i have a faaaairly decent success rate, but that nail one will be tough.
I haven’t seen these posted yet (sorry if they have been).

Jim Caple is trying his hand at something Paul should be writing.. link
Jim actually asked me in advance if I was OK with him doing that. I hate doing lists, so I said sure.
I think he did a really good job of it. I don’t agree with all his choices, but it’s a smart, well-written piece — we need more of those on the uniform/logo beat.
Agreed! Pretty good rankings. I can agree with most of them, and he certainly thought it out.
Not sure why he ranked the Detroit “D” more than one ahead of the White Sox “SOX” logo. What’s the big difference, design-wise?
And, I’d argue that at least the SOX logo is more of a true “design.” The “D” is just a D in a certain font.
But all in all, good job by Jim.
i like his #1
i never really thought about the mets logo in the sense of it standing alone versus other teams logos (surprisingly) — but it is beautiful, innit? i honestly can’t say i’d rank it the best, but it’s certainly up there
now, if they’d just add the “NY” (and i think they are, right?) all will be right in the world … i know others don’t feel it’s needed, and it probably isn’t, but it was there at the beginning and im not sure why it was removed circa 1999…may as well revert it back
like paul and christopher, i don’t necessarily agree with the rankings, but it was a very well done piece
Padres logo = looks like a detergent ad.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
He’s right, you know.
PS-
I never did learn why Mr. Red has “27” on the left there. Only player I ever knew that had that # was an obscure OF named Gene Locklear.
Going strictly on design, the Blue Jays logo is worse than Cleveland’s.
