I bought a Dodgers hat patch from her, ironed it onto a good navy blank, added a right-facing serif to the “A” (bad amateur seamstress, LOL), painted the A red with acrylics and–presto–a hat from the 1957 Pacific Coast League LA Angels.

I’ve got a late-90s Bayern München jersey that’s similar to link except that it’s got a collar and the blue is limited to the sleeves. There are no armpit panels. I like the way it looks.

I am a Rays fan (raised in St.Pete) and all year people were bitching that they couldn’t fill the stands and now that they do in the playoffs (as most teams do) it’s all just bandwagoners. Put it this way, when Namoli was the principle owner of the team not only did he piss of business’ but most of the fans so much so that they did not want to come. I was at the Trop during the last series Cal Ripken played and Namoli came out on the field and was booed for about 5 min straight while he was presenting Ripken with his gifts. Sternberg is trying his best to distance himself from Namoli the best he can. Sorry about the rant but comments like your just piss me off to no end. Oh yea and the last thing moving the stadium will not increase attendance it will just make the people of Tampa happy that a team that has Tampa in the name is actually in the city itself. As Longoria said most of the frontrunners are from Tampa and are only there to be seen.

Yea, but there were minor league teams that averaged more fans per game than the Rays did over the past decade. The only times the Trop would even be close to half sold out is when the Yanks or Red Sox were in town. Now, they string together one good season and the town is acting like they’ve been die-hards forever. Give me a fucking break!

Sorry, I just don’t have any respect for a fanbase that couldn’t care about its team until it actually won some games. There’s too many other teams out there with fans that actually care for me to feel good about the Rays. That franchise should have been moved years ago.

No the real concern was building on the water front and taking away Al Lang Stadium plus no parking at the stadium. However having lived there for 23 of my 28 years on the Earth, I say yes in the Tampa Bay area you need a fully enclosed building. I watched Wakefield almost throw a no hitter while watching sheets of water fall off the roof of the Trop. If its not the heat its the humidity or the bugs or the lightning or the heat.

Joe Maddon already had a WS game hat on, WS logo on the side by the time he was on the field! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before. Not an AL Champions hat, but what will be a World Series Game Cap. This is unreal.

Interesting: In 2005, the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros met in the World Series, resulting in all geographic indicators absent from hats.
In 2008, the TB Rays and Phillies will square off, meaning there will be no city name on any World Series jersey. Furthermore, unless the BP jerseys inexplicably get out of the closet, there will be no softball tops this year. Just white (or cream) vs gray. And speaking of cream, if they were to be worn, it would be New Uniform That Didn’t Exist Last Year vs Other New Uniform That Didn’t Exist Last Year.

Sorry our teams have not been around since the early 1900’s.
