Guess the Game from the Scoreboard for Oct. 29, 2022

Guess The Game…

…From The Scoreboard

Today’s scoreboard comes from ojai67.

The premise of the game (GTGFTS) is simple: I’ll post a scoreboard and you guys simply identify the game depicted. In the past, I don’t know if I’ve ever completely stumped you (some are easier than others).

Here’s the Scoreboard. In the comments below, try to identify the game (date & location, as well as final score). If anything noteworthy occurred during the game, please add that in (and if you were AT the game, well bonus points for you!):

Please continue sending these in! You’re welcome to send me any scoreboard photos (with answers please), and I’ll keep running them.

I know that is 1975 because ex WFL Hawaiians QB Randy Johnson only played one season in Washington. Number 44 was a friend of my father Moses Denson, they were friends from my father’s brief stint with the Montral Alouettes in 1972. John Riggins first wore 29 when he arrived in Washington but then switched to 44 when Moses was released.
After all that, my guess would be November 16, 1975, a 20-17 win by St Louis in overtime at Busch Stadium. I remember the game ended on a controversial play with Cardinals WR Mel Gray and Washington DB Pat Fischer.

I miss football at Busch Stadium. The shadows from the roof arches, the patterned end zones.
It may have been a cookie cutter but it was the most unique one of the bunch.
